This Day In History :
Wilt Chamberlain Scores 100
This day in history is responsible for an iconic moment in the sport of basketball as Wilt Chamberlain re-wrote the record books with a 100 point performance. On March 2, 1962 Wilt scored 100 of the Philadelphia Warriors 169 points and led the team to victory over the New York Knicks. Wilt held a 100 sign up after the game in what is now one of the most recognizable photographs in sports.
Wilt Chamberlain’s single NBA game scoring record still stands to this day. When asked about the achievement after the game Wilt was quoted as saying “I just hope nobody ever asks me when I’m going to score 120”.
