Chattanooga Historical Newspapers Now Online

The detailed a recent Advantage Preservation project to put over 6,000 pages of historical Chattanooga newspapers online and accessible at

After four years of working to find an affordable and sustainable options to bring newspapers online, Chattanooga Tennessee local history advocates, led by Sam Hall of, and David Moon of selected Advantage Preservation based on “dedication to preserving history, while providing a standards-based process to host online-access.”

Mr. Hall said, “Newspapers are considered a ‘first draft of history’. And, it is this history we feel has been put on a back burner by other local organizations. Our priorities are to make this invaluable research tool accessible today.”

This initial launch includes multiple publications ranging from 1838-1907 with plans expand the collection further.
